Nominator's rationale: Tiberius was only married twice. ★Trekker (talk) 21:19, 30 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

  • Delete (i.e. do not merge), they were the wife of Tiberias before he became emperor. Marcocapelle (talk) 21:52, 30 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]
    • Comment And? Its still the primary reason why tons of women are known.★Trekker (talk) 22:30, 30 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]
      • The primary reason why these are known is that they were the wife of Tiberius before he was emperor. Marcocapelle (talk) 06:30, 31 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]
        • Yes, and again why would that matter. They are defined historically as the wives of a man who was Roman emperor.★Trekker (talk) 12:09, 31 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Merge per nom. Grutness...wha? 23:19, 30 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose This would remove them from parent category Category:Tiberius. Dimadick (talk) 05:07, 31 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]
They're both now in Category:Family of Tiberius.★Trekker (talk) 12:09, 31 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Nominator's rationale: Populated by User:Laughingdog/ambidex, which says This user is left handed, but plays musical instruments right handed. This unusually specific category is just as useless for collaboration as Category:Left-handed Wikipedians, which was deleted in 2007, et al. * Pppery * it has begun... 17:53, 30 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Category:Nicknames of kings[edit]

The following is an archived discussion concerning one or more categories. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on an appropriate discussion page (such as the category's talk page or in a deletion review). No further edits should be made to this section.
The result of the discussion was: delete.Fayenatic London 23:28, 11 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Nominator's rationale: upmerge, only 1 article in the category. Note that many kings have been listified in Category:Lists of people by epithet. Marcocapelle (talk) 07:35, 30 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

  • Support - per nominator, makes good sense JarrahTree 07:56, 30 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete - the one article in the cat was actually on a race horse (Old Rowley) rather than the king (Charles II of England ) who took his nickname from the horse, so I removed the cat. Nicknames of monarchs are already in a list - List of monarchs by nickname, and I'm struggling to see the point of having a cat called "Nicknames of kings" as the articles would need to be on the nickname itself, rather than the king (or a racehorse after which the king w as named). Perhaps if the cat were named Category:Monarchs with nicknames it could serve some purpose, but not as currently named. SilkTork (talk) 13:54, 30 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete. Empty category. Unlikely ever to be needed as we do not need to have separate articles about each individual kings' nickname. These are covered in articles about individual kings and the list article is perfectly adequate for anybody wanting to have them all collated together. --DanielRigal (talk) 15:16, 30 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • (as nom) agree with deletion too. Marcocapelle (talk) 21:53, 30 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete per nom. Even if Category:Lists of people by epithet will possibly not found by non-historians or other academics (lots of people won't know what epithet means) it fulfills the encylopedic requirements. --Just N. (talk) 15:44, 5 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete. Empty and near duplication. Celia Homeford (talk) 10:20, 8 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Mental illness in fiction[edit]

The result of the discussion was: rename per nom, while acknowledging that future discussion per Fayenatic's suggestions might be necessary as well. bibliomaniac15 03:04, 7 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Nominator's rationale: rename per WP:C2D, Mental illness redirects to Mental disorders. An incomplete version of the nomination was opposed at WP:CFDS. Marcocapelle (talk) 07:11, 30 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]
copy of speedy discussion
  • The first part of the alt proposal coincides is still very much in line with the nominated proposal but adds "if an article or subcategory clearly does not belong in Category:Fiction about mental disorders (or Category:Mental disorders in fiction) then let's move it to the parent". That is obviously no problem. I agree with Zxcvbnm that the second part of the alt proposal is more something for a fresh discussion. Marcocapelle (talk) 22:36, 9 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]
    • If this discussion is closed per nomination, but without ruling out further discussion of the sub-cats, I have no objection. – Fayenatic London 23:00, 11 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Nominator's rationale: Single-user category, questionable collaborative value, the appropriately-named Category:Wikipedians who read Marvel Comics already exists. * Pppery * it has begun... 02:50, 30 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Category:Tennis players of Lebanese descent[edit]

The following is an archived discussion concerning one or more categories. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on an appropriate discussion page (such as the category's talk page or in a deletion review). No further edits should be made to this section.
The result of the discussion was: merge.Fayenatic London 23:08, 11 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Nominator's rationale: Unnecessary category, can be merged. Nehme1499 02:33, 30 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

  • Support per WP:TRIVIAL, per nom. That said this category is somewhat well populated, and I would be open to reconsidering my !vote if some article came up making a link between Lebanese ancestry and playing tennis. As of now however I can find no such thing. Inter&anthro (talk) 19:08, 31 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete per WP:EGRS Unlike nationality, being of Lebanese ethnicity is not a defining characteristic of tennis players (or practitioners of any other sport for that matter). Roger (Dodger67) (talk) 09:48, 1 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete per nom. --Just N. (talk) 15:48, 5 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Alternative nomination
So this includes the parent category. I have tagged that category too. @Nehme1499, Inter&anthro, Dodger67, and Justus Nussbaum: courtesy ping to earlier participants in the discussion. Marcocapelle (talk) 08:00, 7 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Comment there are very few occupations where a practitioner's ethnicity is even significant, nevermind defining. In sport a person's nationality is often clearly a defining characteristic, but ethnicity is only rarely worth a mention. In the US the first black/African-American person (or sometimes the first Jewish person) to do something or hold a certain position might be significant, but that's pretty much all there is to the intersection of occupation and ethnicity. Roger (Dodger67) (talk) 11:01, 7 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep, as Category:Sportspeople of Lebanese descent is one of the most populated categories of Category:Sportspeople by ethnicity, which also includes similar categories for Afghanistan, India, China, Vietnam, Tajikistan, etc... Nehme1499 13:37, 7 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]
