The result of the discussion was: rename all three. (non-admin closure) JBchrch talk 23:11, 20 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Nominator's rationale: rename to avoid ambiguity. The current name may suggest these are generals of the Seljuk dynasty (which they are not). The rename is comparable to e.g. Category:Civil servants of the Ottoman Empire and Category:Philosophers of the Ottoman Empire. Minor detail: Seljuk should be with a k instead of q per article title Seljuk Empire. Marcocapelle (talk) 21:46, 17 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

  • Support -- Seljuk (warlord) was the founder of a dynasty. it is thus (like Ottoman) imappropriate to trat it as if it were a demonym. Peterkingiron (talk) 17:56, 19 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

The result of the discussion was: rename to Category:Council of Ministers of the Kingdom of the Netherlands. – Fayenatic London 14:04, 21 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Nominator's rationale: merge per WP:OVERLAPCAT, both categories mainly contain the different ministers plenipotentiary. Marcocapelle (talk) 21:32, 17 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Nominator's rationale: Having a premiere at a specific venue, is not notable. See a relevant discussion at WT:FILM here. - Favre1fan93 (talk) 19:36, 17 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Nominator's rationale: Also merge to Category:Transportation in Yarmouth, Maine. This small town has only 2 notable roads and is unlikely to have significantly more in the near future. User:Namiba 15:08, 17 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

The following is an archived discussion concerning one or more categories. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on an appropriate discussion page (such as the category's talk page or in a deletion review). No further edits should be made to this section.
The result of the discussion was: merge Category:Redistricting to Category:Redistricting in the United States. Note that Marcocapelle has already gone ahead and restructured the category hierarchy per the discussion. bibliomaniac15 03:23, 22 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Nominator's rationale: This category and category:Electoral redistributions are confused, partly the wrong way round and partly duplicative of each other and Category:Redistricting in the United States. The term "redistricting" is the term used in the United States for what other countries call "reapportionment" or other terms, so Category:Electoral redistributions should be the top level, with a merged category:Redistricting and category:Redistricting in the United States below that (I don't have a preference on the name). The Gerrymandering and Redistribution Commissions sub-categories and Redistribution (election) and Redistricting commission articles currently in Category:Redistricting should be moved to be members of Category:Electoral redistributions, the other members of that category deal exclusively with the United States so should go to the merged US category. I'd appreciate it if someone could check whether I've done all the nominations correctly, this is the most complicated CfD I've attempted. Thryduulf (talk) 12:24, 17 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Category:Fantastic Fest alumni[edit]

The following is an archived discussion concerning one or more categories. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on an appropriate discussion page (such as the category's talk page or in a deletion review). No further edits should be made to this section.
The result of the discussion was: delete. – Fayenatic London 12:50, 21 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Nominator's rationale: Not defining. Fantastic Fest screens dozens of films each year. That they "attended and presented films" at the festival doesn't tell you much about the "filmmakers and performers". Nardog (talk) 11:55, 17 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
  • Not sure how to phrase this exactly, but I created the category because Fantastic Fest is -- as the biggest genre film festival in the U.S. -- a very significant event for the scene, and often career-defining. ☆☆☆ interstellarpoliceman ☆☆☆ 12:54, 17 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
So is Sundance. So is Cannes. So is Sitges. But we don't have similar categories for them. "Attended and presented" is WP:NONDEFINING. The list would be enormous and useless, especially if you include performers. Nardog (talk) 08:49, 23 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah, I see your point. Agreed. ☆☆☆ interstellarpoliceman ☆☆☆ 15:20, 7 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep. Grenz (talk) 08:19, 20 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete due to no indication that Fantastic Fest "breakthroughs" (a better word than "alumni" here) is noteworthy to have its own category. I'm not even sure if there could be good criteria to define what makes a person "break through". Winning awards? Getting their film acquired for commercial distribution? Getting lots of good reviews? Do second-time appearances at a festival count for "breaking through"? "Alumni" by itself is way too vague and easily means anyone who has ever had a film screened at the given festival. Erik (talk | contrib) (ping me) 14:17, 23 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete, not a defining characteristic of an individual. We do not categorize based on meta analyses. Marcocapelle (talk) 08:23, 25 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Template:Chef-bio-stub[edit]

The following is an archived discussion concerning one or more categories. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on an appropriate discussion page (such as the category's talk page or in a deletion review). No further edits should be made to this section.
The result of the discussion was: merge to Template:Chef-stub. (non-admin closure) Qwerfjkltalk 12:08, 5 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Nominator's rationale: Twinkle is telling me to use CfD for stub templates, but the options it gives me are rename or delete. Really, I'm proposing to merge these two since both templates populate the same category, and any chef stubs are already bio stubs. The only difference I can see is the hierarchy table, which is what can be merged. - 2pou (talk) 22:57, 1 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Relisted to generate a more thorough discussion and clearer consensus.
Please add new comments below this notice. Thanks, Marcocapelle (talk) 05:49, 17 February 2022 (UTC) [reply]
Agree with nom. A chef is a person, so it cannot be any other thing but a bio. Gonnym (talk) 19:55, 17 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
