Nominator's rationale: Categories that don't provide an obvious or defining distinction from their parents. It's really not all that clear what the intended distinction between a "prize" and an "award" is in this context -- the contents here are not prizes in the sense of "reward for winning a contest or a game show", but prizes in the sense of "awards that happen to use the word 'prize' as a synonym for 'award' in their name", so there's just no real reason why they would need their own separate category.   • Comment: When I looked at the cat (before I removed the loyalist subcats, per the Category:Ulster loyalism discussion), I had the impression that it may originally have been intended for the biographies, and the subcats added later. Nominator's rationale: Most of the "medieval Islam" hierarchy has been speedily renamed using "of the medieval Islamic world" following a couple of precedents at CFD, but I thought this one was worth a full discussion, as renaming will take it out of Category:Medieval Muslims. If moved, it will belong in Category:People of the medieval Islamic world by occupation, and some other categories in that one can be moved into this one. – Fayenatic London 14:20, 12 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

  • Oppose — I have checked the writers and they are all arguably from what can be called “the medieval Islamic world”, but that is surely beside the point. There must have been medieval Muslim writers who lived outside “the medieval Islamic world”. By the way, I can’t help wondering what that means, is it defined anywhere? 2nd to 17th Lok Sabha members
Nominator's rationale: This naming convention is in line with similar ones for Indian states (e.g. Odisha and Karnataka), and for other countries (e.g. Pakistan and UK). The convention also makes it much easier to sort legislators into the right categories.   • Support whilst I don't know specifically about other Indian states, I do know that the proposed names is consistent with the category names for the equivalent categories for most other countries outside of India.
