The result of the discussion was: soft delete. (non-admin closure) Qwerfjkltalk 16:15, 19 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Nominator's rationale: Counter-factual redirect. The Irish town of Drogheda is in County Louth. It is over 40 miles by road from the nearest point in County Down.

So far as I can determine, there is no place in County Down named "Drogheda", not even a wee townland.

I wouldn't object to speedy deletion per WP:G1: Patent nonsense. BrownHairedGirl (talk) • (contribs) 20:25, 8 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

The result of the discussion was: Rename to Category:Video games with gender-selectable protagonists (non-admin closure) * Pppery * it has begun... 17:26, 16 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Nominator's rationale: More WP:CONCISE than the current title. Also more consistent with Category:Video games with customizable avatars. ᴢxᴄᴠʙɴᴍ () 14:50, 8 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
  • Opppose - I don't think the inclusion of the word avatar is an improvement. It's not incorrect, but it's also not really the most common way of referring to video game characters. Sergecross73 msg me 15:01, 8 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
    @Sergecross73: Would you support "gender-selectable protagonists" then? I still think it's a better title. ᴢxᴄᴠʙɴᴍ () 18:40, 8 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
    Yes, I'd support that. Sergecross73 msg me 19:46, 8 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
    Ditto. "Gender-selectable protagonists" has a nice ring to it. HarmonyBunny00 (talk) 12:35, 24 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
  • Fine with "protagonists" alt, oppose "avatar" for the same reason as Serge.--AlexandraIDV 09:17, 9 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

The result of the discussion was: Delete (non-admin closure) * Pppery * it has begun... 17:26, 16 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Nominator's rationale: delete, these categories have become redundant after this earlier discussion led to the creation of Category:Ancient assassinated people, Category:Medieval assassinated people, and century categories starting at Category:14th-century assassinated people. Marcocapelle (talk) 07:00, 8 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@LaundryPizza03, Thinker78, Nederlandse Leeuw, and RevelationDirect: pinging contributors to earlier discussion. Marcocapelle (talk) 07:01, 8 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete per nom / precedent. Nederlandse Leeuw (talk) 07:54, 8 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete no longer needed, if they ever were. - RevelationDirect (talk) 00:28, 9 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete per nom, and redundant as a container category. I think these generally should only be created when there are pages that belong at this level because the exact century is unknown. - car chasm (talk) 15:02, 12 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

The result of the discussion was: delete. (non-admin closure) Qwerfjkltalk 16:20, 19 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Nominator's rationale: An electrical connector article will often be a short article with editors often confuse with a stub article. The associated temple can be scrapped as well 121.98.204.148 (talk) 03:35, 8 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
A foolish editor re-added the stubs to all the articles in it even though they are not stubs.
I am not so good at this stuff any more. And I am not going to waste my time any more as a logged in editor. 121.98.204.148 (talk) 03:38, 8 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Category:Prix Valery Larbaud winners[edit]

The following is an archived discussion concerning one or more categories. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on an appropriate discussion page (such as the category's talk page or in a deletion review). No further edits should be made to this section.
The result of the discussion was: Delete (non-admin closure) * Pppery * it has begun... 17:26, 16 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Nominator's rationale: WP:OCAWARD, WP:NONDEFINING
As a memorial to French writer Valery Larbaud, each year the Valery Larbaud Prize is given to a book "that Larbaud would have loved". It's sort of a sweet tribute. This category groups authors who wrote the winning books but those biography articles don't treat this award as defining, generally listing it with other honours. This is one of many French literary award categories created in late 2016/early 2017. The category contents are already listified right here in the main article for any reader interested in the topic. - RevelationDirect (talk) 02:05, 8 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Category:Epigram Books Fiction Prize[edit]

The following is an archived discussion concerning one or more categories. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on an appropriate discussion page (such as the category's talk page or in a deletion review). No further edits should be made to this section.
The result of the discussion was: Delete (non-admin closure) * Pppery * it has begun... 17:26, 16 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Nominator's rationale: WP:NOTPROMO, WP:OCAWARD, WP:NONDEFINING
The Epigram Books Fiction Prize is a literary award from Singapore without a main article--although we do have one for Epigram Books--and this category groups two authors who won it. Every single book listed in those biography articles was published through Epigram (see here & here) and a publisher giving their own authors awards doesn't seem defining. The category contents are already listified right here in the company article for any reader interested in the topic. - RevelationDirect (talk) 02:05, 8 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
