Nominator's rationale: WP:NOTDEFINING, for almost all of the people in this category, being a coach of an IPL team is not a key part of their life. E.g. there are numerous former international players who were coaches for one season listed here, most of whom either have 0 or 1 sentence about IPL coaching listed in their articles, as it wasn't a big part of their life e.g. Shane Warne (no mention), Waqar Younis (1 sentence), Shaun Pollock (no mention), Adam Gilchrist (no mention). We do have similar categories for some other franchise cricket events either, but as per WP:OSE, this isn't a reason to keep this category, when it's non-defining, overcategorisation. Nominator's rationale: Split and containerise to fit with parent Category:Works by fictional setting and its sub-cats for countries and islands. I am hopeful that after splitting to fictional countries and islands, the remainder might fit in "mythological or folkloric settings", so that the category can be containerised. Operas set on the Moon should be moved up into the parent. The TV series category was just kept and containerised rather than deleted at Wikipedia:Categories for discussion/Log/2023 March 6#Category:Television series set in fictional locations; the others still contain a few articles directly, but mainly hold subcats for settings of fictional countries, islands, moons & planets. – Fayenatic London 13:48, 15 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Note: not that it matters now as the removal was completed (and I can't really verify the contents), but from the articles I saw the television category removed, it would seem maybe that the "location" was a substitute for "city" as in "Television series set in fictional cities", just broader to catch locations which aren't cities, but similar. Merge Category:Estonian pornography to Category:Pornography in Europe. Upmerge Category:Sex industry in Estonia (also a WP:SMALLCAT) to Category:Sexuality in Estonia. The main article Pornography in Estonia may also be added to Category:Cinema of Estonia. (Incidentally, I don't see how one can merge 1 cat into 3 other cats, unless you just mean re-parenting that one article to those 3 other cats).   • Combining the above: merge Category:Estonian pornography to Category:Pornography in Europe and Category:Sexuality in Estonia and Category:Cinema of Estonia; delete Category:Sex industry in Estonia.     Oh, I didn't know that. Doesn't merging mean that the obsolete category becomes a redirect to the target category? A redirect can only redirect to 1 target, so I thought it was technically impossible to merge to more than just one, but I see what you mean.     • @Nederlandse Leeuw: in category space not many redirects exist and a move or merge of a category does not by default result in a redirect (in contrast to article space).       Thanks for explaining. I thought it was default. I would think category redirects are mostly helpful for preventing people from re-creating duplicate or misleading category names, and pointing them to the proper cat.
