Smsarmad[edit]

Smsarmad (talk · contribs) Hello! I am Sarmad and I joined Wikipedia, April last year. At start i didn't find much time for editing here but i started editing at regular bases from December 2007. I also got blocked for a week(said to be for vandalizing). But I thought to continue contributing constructively to Wikipedia, so I continued more regularly after the block was over. I want my editing to be reviewed so to know that am i really contributing constructively or not? SMS Talk 16:55, 13 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Questions

  1. Of your contributions to Wikipedia, are there any about which you are particularly pleased, and why?
Well! I am pleased regarding my contributions to the articles Pakistan Air Force Academy and Frontier Force Regiment because I think these articles are much better now than they were before.
  2. Have you been in any conflicts over editing in the past or do you feel other users have caused you stress? How have you dealt with it and how will you deal with it in the future?
Yes! i have been involved in many edit conflicts and many of these were resolved peacefully(Thanks GOD!). And I do have a strong feeling that an editor gave me too much tension. I tried to be civil each time and tried to end the conflict ASAP! sometime I also avoided some editor, by not replying to them! but they still followed me everywhere and tried to revert what i edited! but i followed the principle of forgive and forget each time, so don't think it to be a problem. May be my dealing to conflicts up till now wasn't appropriate! but in future i will always try to be CIVIL and assume good faith while dealing a dispute and will try to calm down other users by offering them tea.

Question asked by Manakattu (talk · contribs)

  1. Did it ever occur to you that you are heavily biased towards a Pakistani POV and has infringed on the neutrality of wikipedia ?
Actually sometimes I find out that at some articles only one side's point of view is mentioned which is duly sourced. As I am a Pakistani, I have knowledge of most of the issues related to Pakistan, so to bring Neutrality to the article if I find duly sourced content that may state the other POV as already in the article, I will add it along with the pov already in the article, which some (or very few) editors, not adhering to neutral pov object and may say that I am heavily biased towards Pakistani POV.

Reviews

  • You need to remember to discuss changes on the article talk page prior to making them and wait until you and the other editors of the article reach a decision. Only after consensus is reached should you make the change if appropriate, using an edit summary that explains the change being made. You also seem to get into a lot of conflicts with other editors, although I believe this has been improving recently. Just remember to be civil, consider other editors' points of view, and be willing to admit when you are wrong. Amillion (talk) 02:48, 6 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for reviewing, although your review seems to be based on only my recent 50 or at most 100 edits according to me. --SMS Talk 19:32, 9 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

  • Stop editing the Awan Wikipedia entry, you don't seem to understand that it is below your pay grade. 205.156.188.254 (talk)

  • You are one of the responsible editors on Wikipedia and your neutral Point of view is your key talent. Your work specially the recent one of improving articles written by other editors is remarkable. I appreciate your assistance and encouragement to other editors.--Shahenshahkillz (talk) 11:40, 29 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

  • This user is heavily biased towards Pakistan and changes neutral topics towards Pakistani POV.
Example: Osama bin Laden was sheltered in pakistan at a stone throwing distance from one of the countries military acedemy. This universally known truth appeared to be impartial to this guy. What a JOKE!! — Preceding unsigned comment added by Dhruv2357 (talkcontribs) 08:32, 9 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]
  • Appreciate your editorial instincts. Pakistan needs more people like you. Cheers. --31.205.56.85 (talk) 05:41, 28 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  • I don't think you are doing it correct. the words in constitution of Pakistan are not-Muslims. and you are insisting on non-Muslims. regardless of your personal agenda against this community, you need to follow rules and don't push your personal agenda here. as wiki is not for religious extremist like you , I will complaint them to forbid you to do any edit as you are going against rules, and propagating your personal agenda here against a minority in Pakistan.
so don't do it again, and read the all clauses against ahmadiyya jammat in constitution of Pakistan , if you find anywhere word non-muslims then show me otherwise don't undo or revoke my edits as I am technically correct here, and not promoting any religious or personal agenda like you. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Woleez (talkcontribs) 13:39, 24 March 2014‎ (UTC)[reply]

  • Smsarmad, You have deleted important information at the National Library of Pakistan pretending that this is copyrighted which you seem to think will frighten people. I simply tried to add a piece of important documented information which you deleted. Why are you vandalizing?
Legal Depository Status
In Pakistan Legal deposit is a part of Copyright Law. Chapter X of the same law covers these five (5) sections under "DELIVERY OF BOOKS AND NEWSPAPERS TO PUBLIC LIBRARIES" heading. Under this law every publisher in Pakistan is bound to deliver one copy of his publications to National Library of Pakistan.[1]

In this case, I don't think templating a new user is going to be helpful most of the time. Then again, the more personable approach didn't work here either. Oh well. Keep up the good work! Lesser Cartographies (talk) 06:44, 2 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]
