Where is the issue taking place?
...Shakespeare Authorship page, and discussion page
Who's involved?
...User:Barryispuzzled, also known as Puzzle Master
What's going on?
...I feel Barry is warping the "consensus" policy, using it to bully and harass new editors of an opposing view, particularly editors, such as myself, who post information about the Earl of Oxford, the leading candidate for Shakespearean Authorship (excepting Shakespeare of Stratford,of course). Barry, who supports Francis Bacon as a candidate, is attempting to "own" the page, deleting entire sections of properly sourced materials. These deletions includes any articles and graphics that cast doubt on his preferred candidate (Bacon). He has also made a false issue around the ordering of the candidates, altering a structure that was agreed to in a consensus that included myself. Using a more selective "consensus", he proceeded to restore Bacon back to the number 2 position, even though the Earl of Oxford (Edward de Vere) is the acknowledged favorite of alternative scholars, the press and the public, surpassing Bacon over 20 years ago in support and popularity.
What would you like to change about that?
...I would like my properly sourced additions, both articles and graphics, to stay on the page. I would like to see Oxford receive the acknowledgment that is proper, given his frontrunner status. And I would like not to be harasssed, mis-quoted and missrepresented by the various anti-Oxfordians who actively and aggressively dominate this page. Scanning the discussion page associated with the article shows that I am not the first Oxfordian to be attacked in this way.
Would you prefer we work discreetly? If so, how can we reach you?
...Yes, at my personal e-mail: smatprt@aol.com (please keep confidential) - understood

Mediator response[edit]

I took a look at this. Barry, you have repeatedly deleted large amounts of duely cited material without providing any significant counter-evidence to support your deletions. I also find that you are making controversial edits without making a good faith effort to work on the article as a team player. Please participate in the discussion, support your edits (whether insertions or deletions) with verifiable authority, and join the commmunity discussion.
