This course examines the ways knowledge in the physical and social sciences is made, the ways knowledge-makers communicate their knowledge with each other both within and across disciplines, and the ways experts communicate their knowledge with nonexperts. Students in this course are typically a mix of pre-professionals in health fields, English majors and minors, and communication/journalism majors and minors. Because our university emphasizes undergraduate research, many of the students in this course have direct experience doing lab or field research with other students under the direction of a faculty member.
