Propose upmerging Category:1071 births to Category:1070s births

Nominator's rationale This category only has 1 entry. This far back many people we only have an approximate birth date, and some of the categorization is just a reflection of how arbitrary the precision of the sourcing is. These small 1 person birth year categories do not aid in navigation.John Pack Lambert (talk) 16:41, 13 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Oppose This one happens to be a small category, but several of the other annual categories in the target are well enough populated for us to keep. There are also a lot of articles in the target category, some of which may be able to be dispersed into the annual ones. I support the principle of eliminating small annual categories where all the siblings are also small, but that is not the case here. Even when the year is appropximate, it may be better to have c.1074 in 1074, rather than in a more general 1070s category. Peterkingiron (talk) 14:17, 15 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]
