The result of the discussion was: merge. The target category was not nominated for deletion. Good Ol’factory (talk) 03:23, 11 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Nominator's rationale: Your reason(s) for the proposed merger: The category Fictional characters with multiple personalities, better encompasses the characters that are relevant to these categories, and the category mentioned is much more finalized, with this one being empty. I believe it would be beneficial to merge them together. TruthSeekerSeven (talk) 22:22, 3 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Merge per nom. Besides a too precise diagnosis of a fictional characters is likely to become a WP:OR issue. Marcocapelle (talk) 07:22, 4 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete both Many psychologists think these disorders largely do not exist at all, there is no reason to categorize by this.John Pack Lambert (talk) 16:20, 4 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete fictional characters have whatever attributes their authors give them. Since most characters don't have this attribute or its absence even mentioned it's likely not notable. "Call me Ishmael; by the way I won't tell you whether I have dissociative identity disorder, just so Wikipedia can't categorize me." </sarcasm> Carlossuarez46 (talk) 23:47, 4 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Merge per nom. Multiple personalities are a notable topic in fiction, dissociative identity disorder is not often used. Dimadick (talk) 16:44, 5 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

The result of the discussion was: merge to Category:People from Sherman Oaks, Los Angeles. (non-admin closure) Asmodea Oaktree (talk) 16:14, 10 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Nominator's rationale: Sherman Oaks is a neighborhood of Los Angeles. Per WP:OCLOCATION, these combinations of occupation/neighborhood of residence are non-defining. User:Namiba 14:18, 3 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Merge Both it is understood that LA has a higher density of notable people in acting, but the multiple neighborhoods they have lived in would create immense category clutter. - RevelationDirect (talk) 18:38, 3 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Merge per nominator....William, is the complaint department really on the roof? 13:03, 4 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Merge there is no reason to categorize actors by a sub-unit within a city that they are from.John Pack Lambert (talk) 16:21, 4 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

The result of the discussion was: delete. Good Ol’factory (talk) 03:21, 11 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Nominator's rationale: delete, not a defining characteristic. The category apparently means to refer to medieval people from Elis (regional unit). The two people in the category are already in an appropriate Category:Principality of Achaea subcategory; Elis was part of that principality. Marcocapelle (talk) 11:48, 3 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • No, Elis is not a defining characteristic of these people. They are from the Principality of Achaea. Marcocapelle (talk) 07:30, 4 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Propose merging
Nominator's rationale: merge per WP:SMALLCAT, just one or two articles in each of these categories and they are not part of a large overall accepted sub-categorization scheme. Marcocapelle (talk) 09:04, 3 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Merge for Now While these places have presumably had more than five mayors, most would be non-notable. No objection to recreating any that exceed expectations and get up to 5+ articles. - RevelationDirect (talk) 18:42, 3 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

The result of the discussion was: delete. Good Ol’factory (talk) 03:20, 11 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Nominator's rationale: Per WP:NONDEFINING (WP:OCAWARD)
The Young Achievers Award is an Ugandan competition which "provides an opportunity for people to work together to address national developmental challenges" and there are about 12 winning categories per year. I'm sure winning it was defining for these promising young people, but Wikipedia doesn't have articles on promising young people. By the time these people are notable, the award is no longer defining and only gets a passing mention in the education or awards section of articles for TV host Flavia Tumusiime, chess player Phiona Mutesi or any others you want to click on. The current contents are already listified here in a separate list article for any reader interested in the topic. - RevelationDirect (talk) 00:12, 3 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

The following is an archived discussion concerning one or more categories. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on an appropriate discussion page (such as the category's talk page or in a deletion review). No further edits should be made to this section.
The result of the discussion was: delete. Good Ol’factory (talk) 03:19, 11 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Nominator's rationale: Per WP:NONDEFINING (WP:OCAWARD)
The Harry S. Truman Scholarship is an American scholarship for undergraduate college students interested in public service, usually at least one from each of the 50 states per year. I'm sure the award was defining for those promising young people, but Wikipedia doesn't have articles on promising young people. By the time these people are notable, the award is no longer defining and only gets a passing mention in the education or awards section of articles like Susan Rice, George Stephanopoulos or any others you want to click on. The current contents are already listified here in the main article for any reader interested in the topic. - RevelationDirect (talk) 00:12, 3 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Background We recently deleted a similar category for a Kennedy scholarship right here. - RevelationDirect (talk) 00:12, 3 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete per nom. Marcocapelle (talk) 08:29, 3 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete per nom. – DarkGlow () 02:37, 4 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete there is no reason to categorize people by a specific scholarship they got. This if taken to its logical conclusion would lead to way more categories than is needed.John Pack Lambert (talk) 16:27, 4 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
