The result of the discussion was: rename to Category:10th-century archbishops in Holy Roman Empire.. (non-admin closure) Qwerfjkltalk 17:28, 25 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Nominator's rationale: No such state as Germany in the 10th century. Was part of the Holy Roman Empire. Laurel Lodged (talk) 14:34, 5 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Comment I think that you may be confusing a state (Germany) with a nationality (German). This is a state nomination. Laurel Lodged (talk) 15:09, 5 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support per nom. The Holy Roman Empire is usually dated from 962 (before, it was called East Francia), but that is not a problem for the two articles in this category. Marcocapelle (talk) 21:28, 5 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
  • REname but to Category:10th-century archbishops in Holy Roman Empire. It is unnecessary to state they were Catholic, because there was no other denomination there at the time. I would not oppose "East Francia", which is the same place, but we would not a break between that and HRE, because they were the same polity though with the ruler now as emperor. Peterkingiron (talk) 15:13, 10 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
  • That is a good point, "Roman Catholic" is redundant indeed. Marcocapelle (talk) 18:43, 10 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Nominator's rationale: No such state as Germany in the 11th century. Was part of the Holy Roman Empire. Only 1 article. Laurel Lodged (talk) 14:30, 5 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
  • Here it is less obvious: the split between Roman Catholic and Eastern Orthodox took place in 1054. Marcocapelle (talk) 18:44, 10 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
