The result of the discussion was: Speedy delete WP:C2FFayenatic London 20:51, 16 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Nominator's rationale: Unnecessary eponymous category that includes only a single image. - Eureka Lott 22:21, 12 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Azines[edit]

The following is an archived discussion concerning one or more categories. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on an appropriate discussion page (such as the category's talk page or in a deletion review). No further edits should be made to this section.
The result of the discussion was: keep the first and rename the second. (non-admin closure) Qwerfjkltalk 08:59, 20 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Nominator's rationale: Categories should match the respective main articles, Azine and Azine (heterocycle), but I cannot rule out that it is the articles that should be renamed, and if so, to what. –LaundryPizza03 (d) 03:09, 9 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
  • Rename Both as nominated. We should follow the subject expertise of the editors from the main articles and if those are ever changed, we can update these categories again. - RevelationDirect (talk) 02:05, 11 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep the first, Rename the second as nominated, and create a category disambiguation page at Category:Azines. Categories are often disambiguated even where an article is considered WP:PRIMARYTOPIC. There is much less content for the first one here, so I do not think it would work well to move it to the unqualified name. – Fayenatic London 21:01, 12 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Relisted to generate a more thorough discussion and clearer consensus.

  • Parenthetical for both, with DAB at main name per Fayenatic. It's actually codified in WP:CATNAME#General conventions: "When an article topic requires disambiguation, any category eponymously named for that topic should include the same form of disambiguation, even if no other articles are likely to have an eponymous category." DMacks (talk) 03:28, 13 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep the first, rename the second as nominated, and create a category disambiguation page at Category:Azines. Both categories should contain a disambiguator, otherwise the risk of confusion is too big. Marcocapelle (talk) 05:11, 13 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Category:Anthropophagy in fiction[edit]

The following is an archived discussion concerning one or more categories. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on an appropriate discussion page (such as the category's talk page or in a deletion review). No further edits should be made to this section.
The result of the discussion was: delete. (non-admin closure) Qwerfjkltalk 09:02, 20 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Nominator's rationale: Delete per WP:NONDEF as not defining for a work. All the works listed here are defined by something else, such as being about aliens or monsters. Note that this is not suggesting to delete the subcategory Category:Cannibalism in fiction, which can be defining. However, Category:Fictional anthropophages may also be deleted as WP:NONDEF. ᴢxᴄᴠʙɴᴍ () 12:27, 4 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

  • Delete per nom. This is about conflict between humans and non-humans, not specifically about anthropophagy. Marcocapelle (talk) 07:41, 12 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Nominator's rationale: One subcategory makes this just a redundant and unnecessary extra level of categorization. StarcheerspeaksnewslostwarsTalk to me 07:29, 4 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Category:Fiction about dinosaurs[edit]

The following is an archived discussion concerning one or more categories. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on an appropriate discussion page (such as the category's talk page or in a deletion review). No further edits should be made to this section.
The result of the discussion was: keep. (non-admin closure) Qwerfjkltalk 09:03, 20 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Nominator's rationale: More concise. Fiction about dinosaurs can be said to be its own genre. ᴢxᴄᴠʙɴᴍ () 13:13, 4 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Perhaps. But you've started at the wrong end of the tree. Secure permission at the tree top then go to the branches. Laurel Lodged (talk) 15:18, 4 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
There is no restriction that subcategories have to match the names of their parent categories if it is decided they don't. This is a special case that doesn't correspond to the parent category. ᴢxᴄᴠʙɴᴍ () 15:32, 4 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
  • Unsure, I doubt that this (or dinosaurs films) is a common term. Marcocapelle (talk) 18:42, 4 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
