The result of the discussion was: soft delete (non-admin closure) Marcocapelle (talk) 05:41, 8 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Nominator's rationale: Only one article, and nothing to suggest more to be expected. Rathfelder (talk) 20:40, 31 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Category:What If...? (TV series)[edit]

The following is an archived discussion concerning one or more categories. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on an appropriate discussion page (such as the category's talk page or in a deletion review). No further edits should be made to this section.
The result of the discussion was: keep (non-admin closure) Marcocapelle (talk) 05:45, 8 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Nominator's rationale: Most of the content of the category is just redirects. The only actual articles are the TV series itself and Nick Fury (Marvel Cinematic Universe), which is overcategorized here (he's not a lead character, and neither exclusive to this TV series). Cambalachero (talk) 18:56, 31 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep please note the existing subcategories for this series, of which the parent cat is necessary. Nick Fury's inclusion was an error has been dealt with, but there is nothing wrong with this still existing to be a parent category. - Favre1fan93 (talk) 21:58, 31 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep. Very strange nomination. Did you not see the 3 sub-categories inside? Gonnym (talk) 22:18, 31 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep The nominator may have missed the Category:What If...? (TV series) episodes sub-category. InfiniteNexus (talk) 03:58, 6 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Category:Persian artists[edit]

The following is an archived discussion concerning one or more categories. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on an appropriate discussion page (such as the category's talk page or in a deletion review). No further edits should be made to this section.
The result of the discussion was: merge all. (non-admin closure) Qwerfjkltalk 12:21, 15 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Nominator's rationale: The notes on the categories say they are for "Painters/artists of the Achaemenid Empire", but none of the articles are about such ancient people. NB There is a subcategory of Category:Persian miniature painters which does have an anchor article Persian miniature, so I'm not suggesting that should go. Rathfelder (talk) 14:35, 31 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
  • Merge per nom. Marcocapelle (talk) 20:15, 31 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
  • Merge There is no coherent way to split off some group of artists as Persian that makes any sense as opposed to Iranian. We really should rename the miniatures category as well.John Pack Lambert (talk) 17:50, 4 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

The result of the discussion was: delete (non-admin closure) Marcocapelle (talk) 05:48, 8 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Nominator's rationale: WP:SMALLCAT, only 1 template, and I have nominated that template for deletion. Don't believe there will ever be enough valid templates/navigational boxes for this, as cricket is a niche sport in Argentina Joseph2302 (talk) 13:30, 31 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

The result of the discussion was: rename to Category:Barcelona in popular culture. (non-admin closure) Extraordinary Writ (talk) 20:56, 14 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Nominator's rationale: We don't have a 'in the arts and media' category tree but we do have the 'in popular culture' one, where this category is already located in (Category:Places in popular culture). This is pretty much a technical renaming request, really. Let's speedy rename this and move on? Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| reply here 10:59, 31 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

The result of the discussion was: delete. (non-admin closure) Qwerfjkltalk 12:25, 15 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Nominator's rationale: delete, the only article directly in the category is about an Anglican archbishop of Canterbury who was born in Scotland. The latter is pretty trivial. Marcocapelle (talk) 05:45, 31 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Keep. From the 17th century onwards there were plenty of Scots in the Church of England. For example Archibald Campbell Tait is another Scot who became Archbishop of Canterbury. The category can be populated. Charles Matthews (talk) 05:58, 31 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

The result of the discussion was: delete. (non-admin closure) Qwerfjkltalk 12:27, 15 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Nominator's rationale: delete, there is only one article, about an archdeacon of Dalraida, which belongs to the Church of Ireland and has nothing do with Scotland. Marcocapelle (talk) 05:42, 31 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
It is correct that the archdeaconry is in County Antrim. I have removed the misleading link from the article. Charles Matthews (talk) 05:54, 31 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
