The result of the discussion was: rename. (non-admin closure) Qwerfjkltalk 20:09, 5 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
  • Propose renaming:
Nominator's rationale: See Wikipedia:Categories for discussion/Log/2022 November 9#Category:Singlechart called without song. Space between the words "Single" and "chart" since the template was renamed {{Single chart}}. Steel1943 (talk) 22:31, 27 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support per nom and previous discussion. Will be happy to help with editing {{Single chart}} to apply this; ping me if needed. --Muhandes (talk) 08:40, 28 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support per nom and previous discussion. Let's get this consistency started. ResPM (T🔈🎵C) 12:16, 28 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support per nom. Although I've been away for so long I hardly remember how to edit, I used to work with these things a lot and the proposal is quite right. — JohnFromPinckney (talk / edits) 20:18, 29 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support. I would favour prefixing the name with "Template" or "Template:" for clarity, but we generally don't bother with that in tracking categories, with only about 100 named that way,[1] compared to thousands in Tracking categories which omit "Template" in their name, e.g. Special:Prefixindex/Category:Navseasoncats. – Fayenatic London 13:31, 1 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

The result of the discussion was: keep. bibliomaniac15 05:35, 5 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Nominator's rationale: delete per recent discussions about similar categories on November 9. @QueenofBithynia, LaundryPizza03, Peterkingiron, Lenticel, Maxaxax, Oculi, and Koavf: pinging contributors to these discussions. There is a whole tree under Category:Current sports events, I will leave that for now, but of course everyone is free to comment on that too. Marcocapelle (talk) 11:00, 19 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
  • The first template does not provide information about maintenance at all, the second says:
"It is intended for use on articles for large natural disasters, such as severe weather, where official information should be consulted instead of Wikipedia exclusively. This template reminds readers that Wikipedia information may not be up-to-date and to consult secondary and primary sources instead."
But this may be true for every Wikipedia article. Marcocapelle (talk) 18:43, 19 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Well, Category:Current wildfires is empty at the moment so maintenance seems to have occurred. My point really is that say 2022 Alabama gubernatorial election has a prominent 'current' notice at the top, with instructions about its removal, which will take care of the category (less prominent, at the bottom). Oculi (talk) 22:25, 19 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
  • Ok then I'm withdrawing the nomination and I will add a maintenance template to the category page. Marcocapelle (talk) 08:02, 20 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I support deleting wildfires but elections and sport will be as lacking as ongoing conflicts. The argument from November 9 did not hold because there is no category for future protests. This time there is Category:Future elections by year but the argument will not hold under different pretext.

The above will be an archived discussion by the next week. The result of the discussion will be: delete.

You still can modify the discussoon and, after it is closed, make subsequent comments on the appropriate discussion page which nobody watches.--Maxaxa (talk) 01:42, 20 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

  • If deleted, please add the other dependent articles in a "see also" section in the articles. There is obviously a direct link to the main article in the header of each dependent article so that does not need to be added in "see also". Marcocapelle (talk) 08:08, 20 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
