Nominator's rationale: Textbook WP:OCEPON violation. Subject also does not meet the very high bar for creating an eponymous category for an individual. The Big Bad Wolfowitz (aka Hullaballoo). Treated like dirt by many administrators since 2006. (talk) 17:19, 23 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete In addition to above nom’s rationale, this has WP:PERFCAT issues as well. StarcheerspeaksnewslostwarsTalk to me 15:06, 24 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete A category for his films alone is questionable, at best. A category this all-encompassing for any adult-film star fails to satisfy basic criteria, and certainly lacks the prerequisite sub-categories needed. KirkCliff2 (talk) 15:50, 24 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete. Without the performance-by-performer over-categorization, three articles, at most, are left. The actor's involvement is not a defining characteristic in enough article to justify an eponymous category. The related navigation template has the exact same problem. • Gene93k (talk) 16:29, 24 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Nominator's rationale: Recent split of the target category, with 2 articles and 1 subcat. What's a fairy tale which is not literary?. Place Clichy (talk) 16:20, 23 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

The result of the discussion was: rename. MER-C 10:02, 6 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Nominator's rationale: Opposed as speedy. Rename in line with Category:Heads of universities and colleges by country, category now includes Category:Presidents of the National College of Ireland‎ and Category:Presidents of St Patrick's College, Maynooth‎. TSventon (talk) 12:42, 23 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support. There has been a recent CfD where there was clear consensus that Heads of universities and colleges is a neutral catch-all title. It should be declined at country level without no more hassle and endless dicussion of wether the category has content relative to univiersities AND colleges, if the country makes a difference between the two, if the heads of these organizations have a specific title, what exactly does the holder of the position do etc. Place Clichy (talk) 16:26, 23 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support. It may take us a while to sort out all these categories. Rathfelder (talk) 17:30, 23 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]
    • Rathfelder That's why we should probably save ourselves this hassle and use Heads of universities and colleges across the table, or at least when there is no immediately obvious better name. Place Clichy (talk) 14:08, 24 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]
  • Place Clichy I wanted to reduce discussion by doing this as speedy, but it was opposed. I would agree with Heads of universities and colleges as a default at national level, but Rathfelder has just renamed a lot of national categories so I wouldn't rename them all again immediately. I am losing track of recent discussions: Wikipedia:Categories_for_discussion/Log/2019_June_28#Category:University_and_college_chancellors_by_country was a discussion of two top level categories, was there an agreement on national level titles? TSventon (talk) 10:05, 24 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]
TSventon My understanding is precisely that most of these categories were quite recently renamed following a bold speedy request by Rathfelder to the Heads of universities in... format (see for instance here. We may therefore just as boldly rename these to Heads of universities and colleges in... which seems to gather consensus. Sometimes I have seen Rathfelder handpick some country-level categories which seems to use a specific title for all categorized individuals (such as vice-chancellor, rector or provost) or organizations (university or college or both). However, once again, I don't think the resulting inconsistency is worth the hassle. Place Clichy (talk) 14:08, 24 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Rathfelder Your last post on "Category:University and college chancellors by country" was "I'm very happy with "heads of" for the main categories. We can then consider what to do with the country sub-categories." Was anything further discussed or agreed before your speedy renames on 8 September? Place Clichy We can only speedily rename again if nobody objects. TSventon (talk) 14:56, 24 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]
I dont think there was a discussion, but I speedily renamed those I had called "Leaders of ..." either to the local term, or to "Heads of". I have no objection to using "Heads of universities and colleges in ..." where appropriate, but I think we should use "Principals, Rectors, Vice-chancellors, etc of ..." in places where there is a clear local usage. Rathfelder (talk) 16:00, 24 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Rathfelder, Place Clichy, I would like to move towards universities and colleges as a default, rather than universities. As a first step, would you agree to renaming all subcategories of Category:Universities and colleges in Europe by country "Universities and colleges of"? This would affect Croatia, Estonia, Finland, Hungary, Luxembourg and Montenegro. All categories in Category:People by university or college in Europe begin "People by university or college in" (except a duplicate Portugal category). If this was agreed, then we could move on to alumni, academics and other continents. TSventon (talk) 09:49, 25 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Fine by me.Rathfelder (talk) 11:24, 25 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]
@TSventon: Fine for me. There are also Alumni by university or college and Faculty by university or college which countain some "by university" subcategories which could be renamed. Outside of Europe there are also a few, e.g. Universities in Antigua and Barbuda, which could be renamed. Place Clichy (talk) 12:00, 25 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]
@Place Clichy:, @Rathfelder:, I have started Wikipedia:Categories_for_discussion/Log/2019_September_25#Category:Universities_in_Croatia today. I think 7 categories in Europe (adding Serbia) are enough to discuss the principle. The rest of the world adds another 25 or so countries. I have mentioned people, alumni, faculty and heads subcategories as a next step. TSventon (talk) 16:05, 25 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]
  • I think the principle is, or will be, agreed so the next lot can be done as speedys. Rathfelder (talk) 16:25, 25 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks, I hope you're right. TSventon (talk) 19:27, 25 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Nominator's rationale: delete per WP:SMALLCAT, only one article, and it is not foreseeable that many similar convictions will follow. There is no need to upmerge, because the one article is already in the parent Category:Ecclesiastical passivity to Catholic sexual abuse cases. Note: there is a speedy request to rename the category and remove "of" from the name. If the category would be kept, the rename is in order. Marcocapelle (talk) 11:19, 23 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete A category this overly specific is unlikely to include a significant number of articles. Renaming the category doesn’t resolve its highly exclusive nature. KirkCliff2 (talk) 15:57, 24 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete per WP:SMALLCAT, also potential BLP issues.--Darwinek (talk) 12:58, 29 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete per above. I am the editor who nominated it for speedy renaming, but I don't think it serves any purpose anyway as pointed out. I noticed this whole topic seems to be overcategorized, so other CfDs may be in order. -Crossroads- (talk) 23:35, 30 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]
