Nominator's rationale: Unnecessary categorization that I imagine will mainly serve as a contentious label. Parent category Category:COVID-19 and its subcategories such as Category:COVID-19 pandemic should provide sufficient coverage. The pandemic is a recent and ongoing event, which seems to be too soon for this type of categorization as it's not "established" enough (compare with other child categories of Category:Denialism). ~EdGl talk 21:05, 12 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete, as a case of recentism. But if the pandemic is going to last many years this category might be re-established at some point. Marcocapelle (talk) 06:02, 13 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • Perhaps Rename and repurpose -- Both articles are adequately categorised, so no need to merge, if deleted. If we could populate it, I would not oppose us having Category:COVID-19 denialists; indeed we might use the present category for that, the eponymous article of the present category becoming the main article for the denalists. The result of the discussion was: delete. MER-C 18:44, 21 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Nominator's rationale: We do not have an article for Never Say Die Records. It does not make sense to have an eponymous category for a non-notable subject right now. Jalen Folf (talk) 18:27, 12 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete, only contains a single subcategory, does not serve a navigational benefit. Marcocapelle (talk) 06:06, 13 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

The result of the discussion was: merge. MER-C 18:49, 21 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Nominator's rationale: Every article in the former is also a member of the latter. Essentially an automatically generated parent/child category conflict.Gjs238 (talk) 16:40, 12 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • Comment: Not sure which category has the appropriate/preferred Wiki format/grammar. Perhaps a reverse merge would be more appropriate. Gjs238 (talk) 16:43, 12 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • Merge per nom (to be preferred over reversed merge per article name Hypercoaster). Marcocapelle (talk) 17:36, 12 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Nominator's rationale: Only one article, already in both parent categories. Hard to see that we need to distinguish photojournalists from other assassinated journalists. Rathfelder (talk) 10:47, 12 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

The result of the discussion was: rename. MER-C 19:01, 21 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Nominator's rationale: Contested C2D. The common name of the football team is "Reggiana", less popularly "A.C. Reggiana"/"A.C. Reggiana 1919" . The official name of the team since 2005, most of the time is "A.C. Reggiana 1919". We don't subcat football team with other former name of the club. (i.e. for this case "Reggio Audace F.C." or "A.C. Reggiana".) Please read also Wikipedia:Categories for discussion/Log/2020 September 2#Category:Reggio Audace F.C. players Matthew hk (talk) 09:21, 12 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

  • Support - it is long held that we only have one category tree per football club, even if they change name. That was reflected in the CFD referred to above. GiantSnowman 17:37, 12 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Nominator's rationale: We dont have any other categories for capitalists. Not clear how they are different from any other sort of businesspeople. Rathfelder (talk) 09:11, 12 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

The result of the discussion was: keep. MER-C 18:59, 21 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Nominator's rationale: I don't think this is a defining trait of chemicals. It's still interesting, however, and might work better as a list if it meets WP:LISTN. –LaundryPizza03 (d) 04:27, 12 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep I quite like this category, and it has helped me to find unusually coloured gases. If you do have a coloured gas, then it is quite an important defining property. Uncoloured proves nothing, as most are uncoloured. Graeme Bartlett (talk) 06:46, 12 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep This is an unusual but notable characteristic, no doubt related to molecular vibration that happens to come with in the small part of the spectrum that is visible by humans. If our vision extended into the infra-red, I suspect we would see a lot more coloured gases. Peterkingiron (talk) 11:52, 18 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • keep Colours of chemicals are defining. From your link (WP:DEFINING:) "a defining characteristic is one that reliable, secondary sources commonly and consistently define, in prose, the subject as having". Inorganic chemistry books always tells the colour of chemicals. Christian75 (talk) 05:58, 19 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]
